Weaning Guidelines:
The nursery follows the NHS guidelines which set out the recommended practise for weaning and introducing solid foods to young children. Our baby feeding procedures are attached to the 0-2 room Welcome letter given to parents when your child starts nursery.

Planning:
Long term and short term planning sheets are displayed on notice boards outside your room entrances within the nursery.

The staff follow the “Pre-Birth to Three” document from the Scottish Executive.  Plans state the resources put out in the different areas – eg messy play, quiet time, construction etc. They ensure that there are different toys on offer so that children have a wide range of activities to stimulate the different age groups.  Staff also do regular evaluations stating what the child has gained from activities and the way forward for the children and individual child.  The children have access to musical instruments, books, puppets and toys (including sensory) at all times during the day.
